Oaktree was looking for an Associate

Oaktree is hiring an Associate to join our life sciences debt and royalty financing business. In this role, you will analyze investments, develop financial models and investment theses, and monitor portfolio performance. You will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to rigorous analysis and sound investment decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze company valuations using various accounting and business-specific assumptions.
  • Analyze company financial statements.
  • Develop detailed financial models with projections.
  • Develop comprehensive investment theses and memos.
  • Present investment ideas to portfolio managers.
  • Participate in deal structuring, legal documentation, and negotiations.
  • Monitor the performance of existing portfolio investments.
  • Assess company capital structures and review related legal documents.
  • Conduct interviews with industry experts and company management.
  • Perform qualitative business and industry due diligence.
  • Assess strengths and weaknesses of various businesses.
  • Perform comparable company analyses.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 2-3 years of experience as an analyst or associate with a top investment bank within investment banking or leveraged finance.
  • Outstanding financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in financial statement analysis, business valuation, accounting, and finance.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a top university.

Nice to Have

  • Healthcare industry experience or exposure is helpful, but not essential.
