Position OverviewJoin a state-led team responsible for upholding care standards in adult residential facilities. In this role, you’ll perform on-site assessments of licensed adult care homes and overnight respite programs, evaluating adherence to North Carolina licensure rules and statutes. Working independently or alongside healthcare professionals, you’ll ensure the safety and well-being of residents through thorough regulatory review.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of care facilities, identifying compliance gaps and areas for improvement
- Analyze findings and prepare clear, accurate reports that support regulatory decisions
- Offer guidance to facility staff and prospective providers on meeting state requirements
- Support county Department of Social Services personnel with regulatory interpretation and best practices
- Communicate findings effectively, both verbally and in writing, to stakeholders across the care continuum
Qualifications
Candidates must hold an active North Carolina Registered Nurse license and have at least one year of relevant clinical or regulatory experience. A valid, unrestricted driver’s license is required, along with the ability to travel across the state as needed.
Preferred candidates will demonstrate familiarity with nursing standards, care planning, and regulatory compliance processes—including experience in audits, accreditation, or survey activities. Strong technical writing and communication abilities are essential for accurate reporting and stakeholder engagement.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid, home-based position with primary responsibility for the Eastern Region of North Carolina. Frequent travel is required, including occasional overnight stays based on inspection schedules. The role supports flexible work arrangements while maintaining accountability to regional oversight needs.
Benefits & Compensation
Salary ranges from $62,044 to $102,371, commensurate with experience. The position includes travel reimbursement for lodging, meals, and transportation per state guidelines.
