The College of Health Sciences at the University of Doha for Science and Technology is hiring an Assistant/Associate Professor of Midwifery. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating courses within the midwifery program, assessing student learning, and managing learning resources. You will join a faculty committed to student-centered learning, pedagogically-sound experiences, and innovative learning technologies that develop graduates for a knowledge-based economy.
What You'll Do
- Develop, deliver, and evaluate a broad range of courses within the midwifery domain.
- Assess student learning, provide academic support, and manage the resources of the learning environment effectively.
- Collaborate with clinical and industry partners and contribute to clinical placement coordination.
- Engage with national and international stakeholders to ensure alignment with professional standards.
- Participate in industry advisory committees and collaborate with other educational institutions.
- Maintain course portfolio documentation in accordance with institutional and accreditation requirements.
- Actively engage in ongoing curricular and instructional development.
- Contribute to scholarship and research in the field of midwifery.
- Supervise student projects where applicable.
- Participate in quality assurance processes.
- Contribute to the professional, scholarly, and community life of the University.
What We're Looking For
- A PhD or Doctorate in Midwifery or in a related health field. If not in midwifery, you must hold an undergraduate or graduate degree in midwifery.
- Registration as a registered midwife and be in good standing with the regulatory body.
- A demonstrated record of academic experience and midwifery practice.
- Experience in teaching midwifery at a higher-education institution.
- A minimum of five (5) years full-time equivalent recent clinical practice experience.
- Demonstrated ability to use diverse and current teaching approaches in the classroom and for practice experiences.
