About the Role

The Department of Surgery, Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery, at UT Health San Antonio is seeking a fellowship-trained Colorectal Surgeon to join our academic faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about building a busy clinical practice, is friendly and collegial, enjoys teaching learners at all levels, and demonstrates interest in clinical research.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in the UT Mays Colon and Rectal Cancer Clinic, the UT MARC Colorectal Clinic for benign disease, and University Health System clinics.
  • Participate in a weekly multidisciplinary gastrointestinal tumor board.
  • Participate in a shared call pool with surgical oncology, advanced minimally invasive surgery, bariatric surgery, and colorectal surgery faculty (approximately one week every eight weeks).
  • Teach residents and medical students.
  • Participate in clinical research.

What We're Looking For

  • Completed a general surgery residency.
  • Completed a colorectal surgery fellowship.
  • Be board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery.
  • Be eligible for a Texas medical license.

Nice to Have

  • Completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery.
  • Advanced robotic and endoscopic experience.
