Par Pacific is looking for an Assistant Store Manager for a HELE convenience store location. This role is responsible for supporting store operations with a focus on safety, leadership, customer service, and business management, all while embodying our retail vision.
What You'll Do
- Maintain a safe work environment for employees and customers by setting safety as a top priority.
- Ensure gas pumps, lot, and store areas are clean and free of debris at all times.
- Conduct monthly mandatory meetings and trainings in collaboration with the Safety Team.
- Report safety incidents in a timely manner and comply with all safety policies, programs, and processes.
- Train, develop, guide, and evaluate employees to operate the store effectively and safely while providing superior customer service.
- Act as backup to Store Managers, preparing and submitting all employee paperwork accurately and on time.
- Ensure all employees receive continuous on-the-job and company-required training to improve performance and safety awareness.
- Motivate, provide feedback, and share employee recognition to improve individual, team, and store performance.
- Set and communicate performance expectations and evaluate actual performance as an extension of the Store Manager.
- Develop potential employees through coaching and training to prepare them for promotion.
- Carry out all company policies consistently.
- Provide prompt and courteous customer service, assist customers at the gas pump and in-store, and help resolve customer issues.
- Accurately ring up sales on the POS system and comply with all cash handling and payment procedures.
- Develop positive and professional relationships with customers, vendors, and contractors.
- Assume responsibility for all cash, monies, and inventory during your shift.
- Prioritize, develop, and assign tasks to ensure the store is clean, stocked, and organized for fast, convenient service.
- Ensure a friendly, welcoming, and well-maintained store environment for customers.
- Monitor customer needs and expectations, promoting programs and ensuring suggestive selling.
- Actively solicit customer feedback through personal interaction and engagement.
- Resolve complaints quickly and sincerely to ensure customer, vendor, and contractor satisfaction.
- Promote and ensure a safe and positive public image within the community.
- Promote and grow the Kama'aina Rewards program.
- Plan and manage store activities to maximize operating profit.
- Monitor fuel sales volume and competitor pricing to assist in developing store-specific fuel pricing strategies.

Benefits & Compensation
- Hourly compensation: $23.00 - $28.65
