BAE Systems Intelligence & Security is hiring an Assistant Commercial Manager

About the Role

BAE Systems Intelligence & Security is seeking an Assistant Commercial Manager to join the vibrant Commercial team within the Maritime Services Products business. In this role, you will support the Senior Commercial Manager in managing and delivering a portfolio of contracts and bids in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Commercial team on a wide range of contracts, projects, and campaigns.
  • Actively participate in Bid Teams to prepare and present commercial bid reviews, ensuring necessary approvals are obtained.
  • Work closely with project teams, business development, and customers to ensure smooth running of existing contracts and develop new business opportunities.
  • Establish excellent working relationships with both internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Provide commercial strategy on contract development, pricing, governance compliance, customer negotiation, commercial risk, and margin growth.
  • Review and obtain authorisation for contract terms and conditions, engaging with central functions like Legal, IP, and Tax on compliance issues.
  • Lead the negotiation of proposals of varying complexity with customers to secure acceptable business agreements.

What We're Looking For

  • A high degree of customer focus and a commitment to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Broad professional knowledge of Commercial principles within defence, techniques, practices, and an understanding of the Commercial role in organisations.
  • Understanding of contract terms, contractual and legal frameworks, and the ability to identify key contractual risks.
  • Good awareness of various functions and the role they play as part of an integrated project or bid team.
  • People management experience.

Team & Environment

You will be a member of the vibrant and highly capable Commercial team, within the Maritime Services Products business, reporting directly to the Senior Commercial Manager.
