About the Role

Responsibilities
- Examine land records to verify ownership of oil and gas rights
- Prepare title summaries and opinions for energy properties
- Identify and resolve title defects affecting mineral rights
- Support due diligence in acquisition and divestiture transactions
- Work with land professionals to track chain of title
- Draft and review assignments, deeds, and conveyance documents
- Communicate with clients regarding title issues and risks
- Ensure compliance with state-specific oil and gas regulations
- Manage title work for multiple projects simultaneously
- Collaborate with geologists and landmen on property evaluations
- Maintain accurate records of title research and findings
- Assist in curative actions to resolve ownership gaps
- Evaluate leasehold interests and royalty obligations
- Provide guidance on title standards in the Appalachian Basin
- Participate in transactional closing processes
- Review title commitments from third-party providers
- Identify rights-of-way and surface use conflicts
- Assess depth and scope of mineral reservations
- Track deadlines for curative requirements
- Ensure proper documentation for recordation
- Advise on title risks in joint venture agreements
- Coordinate with title insurance underwriters
- Stay current on regional case law affecting mineral rights
- Support internal audit and compliance reviews
- Maintain confidentiality of client property data
