Corewell Health is hiring an APP Lead - Regional Anesthesia to provide direct oversight and leadership to teams of CRNAs at our Big Rapids, Reed City, and Greenville Hospitals. You will be accountable for developing and managing the quality and overall performance of advanced practice clinical services in the division, ensuring APPs practice at the full extent of their licensure and education. What You'll Do
- Champion and support the system mission, values, vision, and strategic priorities.
- Set APP job expectations and work to ensure patient access goals are met.
- Perform the essential clinical functions of a CRNA or CAA.
- Promote respectful and collaborative communications between physician leaders and APPs.
- Collaborate with operational and physician leaders on workforce planning and APP recruitment, participating in hiring per the RAPID process.
- Conduct performance and mentorship discussions and annual reviews using the APP scorecard.
- Foster APP career development and implement retention strategies.
- Lead the APP merit process with operational and physician leadership.
- Participate in financial planning and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Facilitate APP student placement and promote positive clinical experiences, identifying high performers for future recruitment.
- Perform oversight of the APP mentorship program within your team.
- Be proficient with EPIC utilization and coordinate EPIC optimization with APPs.
- Conduct performance mentoring and corrective action planning with guidance from HR, the APP Director, and leadership.
- Participate in the termination process.
- Approve expenses such as CME, PTO, and ESC; process payroll adjustments; manage API in collaboration with the operational team.
- Ensure timely completion of annual compliance training, TB and flu vaccines, and license renewal in collaboration with the operational team.
- Support and promote high-quality care, patient satisfaction, and best-practice initiatives within the service line.
What We're Looking For
- Master's Degree: Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia, Master of Science in Anesthesiology (MSA), or Master of Medical Science (MMSC).
- LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire.
- CRT-At least one License/Certification in area of specialty: National Certification Examination (NCE) by NBCRNA Upon Hire OR CRT-At least one License/Certification in area of specialty: National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA) exam Upon Hire.
- CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association within 90 Days.
- CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association Pediatric within 90 Days.
Nice to Have
- Doctorate Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with anesthesia specialization.
