Bio-Techne is hiring an Analytical Instrument Sales Specialist

Position Overview

Join a forward-thinking organization focused on innovation in life sciences as an Analytical Instrument Sales Specialist. You will be responsible for growing sales of automated immunoassay systems and associated consumables across a defined territory, covering Southern Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Hungary. This is a field-focused position requiring regular travel—approximately 75% of time spent visiting clients—to support existing accounts and identify new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed sales targets using consultative techniques that align product capabilities with customer needs
  • Develop and expand business within current accounts while identifying and securing new clients
  • Collaborate with the broader commercial team to deliver a unified customer experience and promote integrated solutions
  • Conduct accurate forecasting for both instruments and reagents, ensuring reliable pipeline visibility
  • Utilize Salesforce.com to track leads, manage customer interactions, and maintain up-to-date opportunity records
  • Plan and execute strategic account plans in line with company objectives and market dynamics
  • Articulate product value propositions, technical benefits, and applications clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of laboratory workflows, scientific methods, and equipment relevant to the product portfolio

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates should bring at least five years of experience in life science tools, with a minimum of two years in direct sales within a related technical field. Strong interpersonal abilities, effective presentation skills, and proven success in managing time and territory independently are essential. You must be able to engage customers on technical topics, listen actively, and translate insights into compelling value propositions.

Fluency in German (native level) and advanced English (C1–C2) are required. Familiarity with laboratory reagents, analytical methods, and equipment used in pharmaceutical and biologics development is expected. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of thriving with minimal supervision while contributing positively to team efforts.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in (automated) immunoassay technologies
  • Proficiency with MS Office, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.com

Work Environment and Location

This is a field-based role requiring presence in the territory. The preferred base locations are Freiburg, Stuttgart, or Munich. Regular customer engagement—about 75% of working time—will be conducted on-site.
