Responsibilities
- Conducting primary and secondary research to monitor macroeconomic, political, and business developments in the SSA region, and analyzing their implications for multinational companies
- Supporting the creation of analysis and presentations advising senior executives in multinational companies on business implications of economic and political developments in SSA
- Writing research deliverables that are concise and impactful for a senior executive reader
Requirements
- A Bachelor's (or preferably Master’s) degree from a top-tier academic institution in a relevant field, ideally Economics
- Strong economics knowledge, demonstrated through academic coursework or practical experience; candidates should be able to apply macroeconomic principles to real-life country developments and draw conclusions about future trends and implications
- Demonstrated knowledge of key SSA markets through academic and/or professional research experience; an understanding of the current socio-political and economic environment in the region is particularly key
- Research experience (in an academic or professional setting) including hypothesis-testing, structuring complex research projects, primary and secondary research, survey-building, and other techniques
- Exceptional communication skills in English; we are looking for someone who is not just fluent in English but also able to distil complex and technical topics for non-specialists
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel)
- Demonstrated ability to cover a variety of topics and issues, including unfamiliar ones
- Familiarity with quantitative economic analysis

Team
Structure: The contractor will be part of FrontierView's SSA Strategic Insights (SI) team.
Additional Information
- 1–2 years of work experience
- This position is remote, with a short term initial contract subject to extension
- The contractor will have exposure to engagement with C-suite level executives, giving them a look into the decision-making processes of the world’s largest businesses
