StepStone Group is hiring a detail-oriented Analyst to join the Platform Analytics team within our private debt business. In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior professionals across business development, research, legal, and compliance teams to meet extensive data analytics needs for both internal and external stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Work with the portfolio analytics team to complete data analyses and requests for private markets, focusing on private debt
- Develop and improve existing data analytics tools
- Create and adapt new data analysis reports and tools for various deliverables
- Perform regular analytics tasks including total expense ratio, track records, ESG reporting, and regulatory data requirements
- Interpret analysis output and provide insights to senior team members
- Address ad hoc requests from internal and external clients
- Critically evaluate the quality and content of data analyses and deliverables, raising issues as needed
- Assist with other projects and analyses within the portfolio analytics team and broader reporting function
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-4 years of relevant professional experience
- Significant experience with Microsoft Excel and data sets
- Exceptional follow-up skills and acute attention to accuracy and detail
- Strong ability to multi-task and manage time in a detail-oriented environment
- Self-starter with initiative to identify and investigate data issues or inconsistencies
- Highly motivated individual with demonstrated initiative, independence, and adaptability
- Strong cross-functional analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, with the ability to capture and formulate complex issues
- Strong work ethic
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technical capabilities
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business
- Relevant experience within the Investment or Private Markets industry
- Good understanding of investments and ideally private markets
