American Airlines is hiring an Analyst, Financial Planning Systems

Join American Airlines as an Analyst, Financial Planning Systems. This role sits within the Accounting Automation team and supports transformational initiatives to modernize the tools and applications that drive Accounting and Finance operations. You will oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the application portfolio, coordinating with vendors on product development.

What You'll Do

• Support the Hyperion planning application monthly for forecast and actual financials
• Validate data from Hyperion Financial Management and from controllers
• Investigate and resolve issues with data, including divisional roll-ups and intercompany transactions
• Support system maintenance and maintain user permissions
• Support users with system issues, existing reports, forms, and models
• Assist with preparation of in-depth cause and effect analyses on complex financial issues and competitive industry analyses
• Coordinate and complete the monthly headcount process with respect to Hyperion
• Update Hyperion Planning with hierarchy changes and coordinate changes with Controllers and GL administration
• Consult with work groups to determine reporting business requirements and propose efficient solutions
• Create Essbase cubes, Planning Applications, Reports, and forecasting models for Finance divisions

What We're Looking For

• Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Information Systems or equivalent experience
• 3 years’ work experience in a Finance role, including experience with financial statements, modeling, and analysis
• Strong IT background, including experience with Oracle and multi-dimensional/relational database structures
• Microsoft Power BI or other dashboard query experience
• Experience with low code/no code tools such as workflow automation (Alteryx) or agent build (Copilot)

Nice to Have

• MBA
• Experience using Hyperion and Anaplan, including development and administration experience (Hyperion Financial Reporting, Essbase, Planning, HFM)
