What You'll Do
- Lead monthly financial close processes for the Malaysia manufacturing facility, focusing on inventory valuation, cost reporting, and variance analysis.
- Act as the primary finance liaison between the local plant and global leadership, collaborating with operations and cost accounting teams to align financial and operational goals.
- Examine variances between standard and actual costs, including material price, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption, to identify root causes and financial impact.
- Support inventory health through reconciliation, aging reviews, excess and obsolete (E&O) assessments, and working capital tracking.
- Provide financial oversight during product transitions and production scale-ups, ensuring cost readiness and performance monitoring post-implementation.
- Convert operational metrics—such as yield, throughput, scrap, and labor utilization—into financial forecasts and performance explanations.
- Develop and maintain transparent, consistent, and auditable financial models and reporting templates.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and increase automation within plant finance activities.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support site and business unit objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in manufacturing finance, operations finance, or cost accounting roles.
- Proven knowledge of standard costing systems, variance analysis methodologies, and inventory accounting principles.
- Direct experience with month-end close procedures in a production environment.
- Ability to collaborate with plant teams and influence decisions using data-driven insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and direct experience extracting and analyzing data from ERP platforms such as Oracle or SAP.
- Capacity to work autonomously in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing ramp-up setting.
- Strong communication skills with a track record of engaging stakeholders across time zones and organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting new site launches, product transfers, or manufacturing scale-ups.
- Familiarity with inventory control practices, E&O analysis, and working capital management.
- Track record of working closely with on-site cost accounting teams.
- Exposure to financial automation or analytics tools such as Adaptive Planning or Power BI.
- Advanced degree or background in data analytics is highly desirable.
