About the Role

Austin Health is recruiting Undergraduate Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) for our Physiotherapy Department. This casual role is specifically for Physiotherapy students who are studying or completing clinical placements. You will assist the Physiotherapy team to deliver client-centred services across the hospital and community, completing a variety of direct and indirect clinical and administrative tasks. This is an opportunity to learn and grow in the public hospital environment and contribute to a welcoming and dynamic team.

What You'll Do

  • Assist the Physiotherapy team to deliver client centred services across different areas of the hospital and in the community.
  • Complete a variety of direct and indirect clinical and administrative tasks.
  • Assist a client to complete an exercise program, or activity of daily living.
  • Assist with facilitating a group program.
  • Order, clean and manage delivery of equipment.
  • Assist with the co-ordination of resources required for health professionals and clients.
  • Work within the Physiotherapy Department but occasionally may work or be delegated appropriate tasks under the direction of other Allied Health Professionals.
  • Promote GV Health as a quality regional health service provider.

Team & Environment

You will join a large team consisting of Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists and Allied Health Assistants. You will primarily work within the Physiotherapy Department, but may occasionally work under the direction of other Allied Health Professionals such as Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Dietitians and Social Workers.
