About the Role

Baylor College of Medicine seeks a Research Coordinator III to coordinate activities for complex clinical research studies within the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. You will ensure the accurate execution of research protocols, data integrity, and the safety of study volunteers.

What You'll Do

  • Assist investigators with enrolling, screening, and consenting patients into Pediatric Critical Care clinical trials.
  • Explain study processes and procedures to educate research participants.
  • Collect and record study data related to catheterization procedures, cardiac measurements, and related tests.
  • Assist with electronic case reporting requirements per FDA and clinical trial guidelines.
  • Collect patient information, process documents, and enter data into study databases.
  • Perform research-related procedures such as venipuncture, EKGs/ECGs, and obtaining vital signs.
  • Correspond with patients throughout the study lifecycle.
  • Interact with study sponsors and coordinating sites to facilitate protocol activities.
  • Collect, process, and store or ship biological specimens per study protocols and IATA guidelines.
  • Maintain study records and regulatory documents.
  • Schedule participant tests, procedures, and study-specific visits.
  • Retrieve and submit test results as required.
  • Assist with ordering study supplies and equipment.
  • Review protocol documents and informed consent forms for relevant information.
  • Prepare documentation for initial and continued IRB approval.
  • Collaborate with physicians, mid-level practitioners, research nurses, and data managers.
  • Conduct subject research study education within your scope of practice.
  • Submit and follow up on serious adverse event reports.
  • Evaluate and analyze clinical research data as appropriate.
  • Perform other assigned job duties.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant clinical research experience.

Nice to Have

  • Medical degree.
  • At least three years of research experience.
  • Ability to support occasional flexible work hours as needed by the study team.
  • Pediatric Critical Care Medicine experience.
