Johnson & Johnson is looking for an AI/ML Summer Intern - Computer Vision - Ophthalmology to join our pharmaceutical research team. This internship focuses on applying deep learning to ophthalmology imaging and contributing to algorithm development in a clinical trial context.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, implement, and validate innovative deep learning solutions addressing high-priority computer vision challenges in medical imaging.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams of scientists, engineers, and clinicians to advance algorithm and product development.
- Clearly communicate complex technical methodologies and present findings to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Prepare and draft manuscripts outlining development methodologies to contribute to the scientific community.
What We're Looking For
- Actively pursuing a PhD in a field related to deep learning and computer vision (e.g., computer science, medical informatics, biomedical engineering). Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Strong publication record with the ability to effectively communicate technical work to a broad audience.
- Fluent in English. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization and participate effectively both independently and as part of multiple teams.
- Capacity to work under strict timelines.
- Strong programming skills in Python and PyTorch.
- Demonstrated solid foundation in applying deep learning techniques for computer vision and image analysis, particularly in object detection and image segmentation.
- Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa at the time of application or in the future.
Nice to Have
- Publications in conferences such as CVPR, ICLR, ICCV, ICML, MICCAI, ACL, and NeurIPS.
- Experience working with ophthalmology imaging data.
- Experience working with JSON and pandas.
