About the Role

The Fedcap Group is seeking an After School Instructor to support our program in Hawthorne, NY. You will assist the After School Coordinator in developing, directing, and supervising daily activity programs for children. Your primary focus will be to help create a warm, caring, and safe environment that supports children's learning and development.

What You'll Do

  • Administer direct supervision of children at Easter Seals and at school sites.
  • Generate age-appropriate lesson plans for each area of instruction.
  • Ensure safety and promote active learning through age-appropriate activities and play.
  • Setup appropriate study group homework incentives.
  • Attend required staff meetings.
  • Maintain required in-service training hours.
  • Administer scheduled snacks.
  • Complete accurate incident reports when necessary.

What We're Looking For

  • For Group Teacher: Associate's degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field OR School-age Child Care Credential (or other Office recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period) and one year experience working with children less than 13 years of age OR High School diploma or its equivalent and Two years direct experience working with children under 13 years of age.
  • For Assistant Teacher: High School diploma or its equivalent OR One year experience working with children under 13 years of age.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a New York State Student Employment Certificate if under 18 years of age.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: $17 - $21/Hr.

This is an onsite position located in Hawthorne, NY.
