As an Engineering Manager, you’ll guide a team of skilled engineers in building robust, scalable software solutions within a fast-moving eCommerce landscape. You'll take ownership of end-to-end project delivery while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support a team of engineers through technical challenges, career development, and day-to-day execution.
- Drive the design and evolution of cloud-based systems, emphasizing reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Establish clear goals and metrics that align engineering outcomes with business priorities.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, and DevOps to ensure smooth, efficient development cycles.
- Champion best practices in security, testing, CI/CD, and operational resilience.
- Lead incident response efforts, conduct post-mortems, and implement improvements to system uptime.
- Balance feature development with technical debt reduction and long-term architectural strategy.
- Contribute to hiring, team planning, and leadership development within the engineering organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with at least 6 years of experience, including 2+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven track record managing software teams and delivering complex technical projects.
- Deep experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), microservices, and distributed systems.
- Strong background in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies.
- Experience leading incident management and improving system reliability.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.
- Solid understanding of software architecture, API design, and scalability principles.
- Ability to mentor engineers and support their growth through feedback and opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in eCommerce environments, particularly with Shopify, is highly valued.
