What You'll Do
Define the technical future of an intelligence-first customer experience platform. You’ll align engineering strategy with business objectives, guiding both long-term vision and immediate execution. Lead the expansion of the engineering team by doubling its size within 18 months, designing team structures that support rapid iteration and scalability.
Remain actively involved in development—prototype new AI-driven features, evaluate pull requests, and experiment with emerging tools. Collaborate as an equal with product, design, and revenue leaders to influence company-wide direction. Drive consistent weekly shipping, adapt scope based on real-world feedback, and maintain momentum through uncertainty.
Foster a culture rooted in ownership, direct communication, and technical excellence. Mentor engineers into leadership roles, cultivate best practices that scale, and inspire through energy and example. Champion fluency with agentic coding and AI-augmented development across the organization.
Requirements
- Proven experience scaling engineering teams beyond 30 members while sustaining delivery velocity
- Continue writing code regularly using modern AI-powered development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Lovable, or v0
- Demonstrate deep technical expertise in AI-native systems, particularly in conversational AI, event-driven architectures, and LLM applications
- Engage confidently with enterprise customers and technical executives to understand challenges and build trust
- Take initiative without direction—identify opportunities, make bold decisions, and shape technical strategy
- Have shipped production systems at scale and led teams that deliver consistently
- Developed multiple engineers into technical leaders
- Balance high-level strategy with low-level debugging, moving fluidly between abstraction levels
- Thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments typical of early-stage innovation
- Bring sustained energy and a positive mindset that motivates teams through change
