GQS GmbH is looking for an Africa Sales Director to lead our Food Ingredients Distribution business across the continent. This senior B2B sales leadership role is responsible for strategic growth, market expansion, and managing the team of Country Managers.
What You'll Do
- Ensure proper business development plans at the country and sales team level, aligned with global targets.
- Initiate and participate in the development of global policies, structures, and tools, enforcing their local implementation.
- Oversee the cost and capacity structure of local offices to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Monitor sales and financial KPIs and corrective actions with Country Managers.
- Initiate best practice sharing within your area, encouraging cooperation and usage of synergies.
- Be responsible for the overall development of countries in Africa.
- Act as the direct supervisor of Country Managers and as a link between HQ and local teams.
- Be selectively involved in operative, daily business when necessary.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Food Technology.
- Experience either working for a distributor managing a team of Country Managers, or for a producer managing Food Ingredients distributors.
- Proven ability to develop new countries in Africa.
- Experience with Food Ingredients Distribution in a B2B environment (not FMCG).
- A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience, including managing at least one country with a bigger team.
- Perfect command of English.
- Readiness for frequent travel.
- A communicative, proactive, and analytical approach with supportive leadership and team skills.
Nice to Have
- An MBA or economic background.
- Fluency in French.
- Fluency in a local African language.

You will be the direct supervisor of Country Managers, acting as the crucial link between HQ and the local teams in Africa.
