AECOM is looking for a Senior Cost Manager to provide expert client-side cost and commercial management for flood alleviation and capital investment projects. You will be responsible for guiding projects from initial inception and design through procurement, site delivery, and commissioning, ensuring successful outcomes for our clients.
What You'll Do
- Lead Cost/Commercial Management commissions, taking full responsibility for their successful delivery.
- Provide client-side cost/commercial management support during all stages of the project delivery lifecycle, from option studies and development through to NEC contract administration and on-site delivery.
- Participate in project meetings, contribute to the Project Execution Plan (PEP), prepare cost reports, and assist with procurement strategies and tender documentation.
- Handle general post-contract commercial management and administration.
- Proactively engage with the client, contractor, and other stakeholders to ensure delivery within the agreed scope and help prevent disputes.
- Support projects to be delivered to the client's satisfaction regarding quality, cost, and time.
- Develop strong relationships with clients and members of the cross-functional team.
- Support business development opportunities with both existing and new clients.
- Provide support on contract management services on NEC4 contracts, administering through a contract management system.
- Advise the client on procurement strategies and review tender documentation.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a consulting or contractor environment.
- Proven infrastructure cost/commercial management experience.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the NEC suite of contracts, particularly the Professional Services Contract (PSC) and Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC).
- Experience working as part of an integrated, multi-organisation, collaborative team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Excellent IT skills and the ability to utilize current digital tools.
- Excellent numeracy, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage relationships both internally and externally.
- A team-oriented approach with a commitment to developing and progressing your career.

Nice to Have
- Direct flood alleviation sector experience.
- A relevant degree in quantity surveying or a related subject, or exceptional relevant industry experience.
- NEC Accredited Project Manager status or willingness to undertake the training course.
- Preferably a member of a related professional body (e.g., RICS or equivalent) or working towards chartership.
- An interest in supporting social and CSR activities to promote a positive workplace.
