What You'll Do
In this role, you'll expand market presence across Western Ohio by engaging directly with financial advisors, broker-dealer firms, and key industry contacts. Your primary focus will be growing assets under management through consultative relationships and targeted outreach.
You’ll design and execute territory-specific business strategies in collaboration with internal teams, delivering presentations at client events and industry conferences to promote Hartford Funds’ offerings, including mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, and CITs. Leveraging data and digital tools, you’ll identify opportunities, track performance, and refine your approach to stay competitive.
Regular communication with advisors ensures they’re informed on market developments and product updates. You’ll also provide responsive support, anticipate client needs, and enhance service delivery—all while adhering strictly to regulatory standards and using only approved materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, marketing, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- Active Series 7 and Series 63 licenses required
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time
- Strong presentation skills with confidence speaking to individuals and groups
- Demonstrated integrity, judgment, and a results-oriented mindset
- Deep understanding of financial markets, competitive landscape, and advisor needs
- Problem-solving ability and resourcefulness in overcoming obstacles
- Commitment to continuous learning and adaptability in a changing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- At least five years of experience in external wholesaling
- Proven success within broker-dealer networks in the region
- Existing relationships with financial advisors and centers of influence in Western Ohio
- Track record of achieving sales goals as an individual contributor and team collaborator
- Additional credentials such as CIMA, CFA, or similar designations
