Seeking analytics professionals to serve as a part-time Associate for a graduate-level course on Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIOT). An Associate is a faculty line junior to a Lecturer, that provides subject matter expertise and supports the instructional process for a course section. Serving as an Associate is an outstanding way to gain exposure to graduate-level teaching at Columbia University.
This course provides a comprehensive understanding of IoT technologies and their integration with AI and robotic systems. Students will explore IoT architecture, key components, and communication protocols, while gaining hands-on experience with IoT platforms, sensors, and data acquisition devices. The curriculum emphasizes practical AIoT applications for real-time decision-making in manufacturing, public safety, smart cities, healthcare, etc., and addresses the ethical considerations of these technologies.
Combining conceptual learning with practical assignments, the course features weekly lectures and readings on IoT fundamentals and applications, with biweekly quizzes to assess conceptual understanding. Students will further apply their learning through individual assignments and a group term project, ensuring a robust foundation in IoT analytics and AI-powered robotic automation.
Responsibilities
- Attend all class sessions, assist with instruction, lead breakout sessions, facilitate discussions.
- Evaluate, grade student work and assessments as requested by the course Lecturer.
- Monitor and address student concerns and inquiries.

Job Description: Reporting to the Assistant Director for Pre-College, the incumbent performs a variety of tasks to support the Pre-College Programs at the School of Professional Studies. The Senior Online Program Facilitator serves as the primary resource to Instructors and Online Program Facilitators for day-to-day administrative, online classroom technology, and social media tasks.RESPONSIBILITIES
PROGRAM FACILITATORServe as the primary resource to 30+ Online Program Facilitators:* Lead in-person and remote onboarding and training sessions
* Troubleshoot online classroom technology issues
* Support social media content administration
* Attend training sessions and modules to learn the intricacies of online curricular technology in order to serve as a resource to the general program and instructional staff. Technologies include but are not limited to, CourseWorks and Zoom
* Lead the proofreading of student evaluation letters written by instructors
* Manage and organize proofreading documents in Google Drive folders and update the supervisor with daily progress reports
* Assist with the planning and execution of social media campaigns
Performs other duties and projects as assigned or requested
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications* High School Diploma or High School equivalency diploma
* One semester of experience with Columbia University’s Pre-College Programs
* Must have completed at least one academic year of study at an American college or university by the start of the internship
Preferred Qualifications* Proven ability to effectively work and lead within a collaborative team setting
* Ability to work independently on multiple work streams
* Ability to handle confidential information in a mature, professional manner
* Passion for social media content creation and management
Additional Information: The rate of pay for this role is $25.00/hour. Those hired can expect 10-15 hours per weekOTHER REQUIREMENTS* Must undergo a mandatory background check – employment contingent upon results
