Adept Group is seeking a Principal Packaging Consultant for a 6-month contract at 40-hours per week. You will lead complex packaging projects from concept through commercialization, driving productivity, cost optimization, capacity expansion, and quality improvements within our award-winning, flexible, and human-centered culture.

What You'll Do

Lead packaging projects across primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging formats.
Execute initiatives focused on productivity, cost optimization, capacity expansion, and quality improvements.
Develop and validate packaging concepts through lab tests, plant trials, and material qualifications.
Partner cross-functionally with internal teams (R&D, procurement, legal, supply chain) and external vendors.
Write and maintain technical documentation, including packaging specifications and structural drawings.
Provide technical guidance on materials, vendors, and packaging processes.
Design, test, and validate new or optimized packaging formats (PET, flexible, paper).
Coordinate lab and plant trials.
Generate documentation for specifications and supplier qualifications.
Participate in meetings to communicate project status and risks.
Travel as needed for plant support and vendor visits.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of full packaging development and commercialization experience across primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging formats.
5+ years of experience in Packaging Engineering.
Technical expertise in PET, resins, fibers, flexibles, and molded packaging.
Hands-on experience with packaging development and commercialization.
Proficient in creating technical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Project.
Familiarity with C.A.P.E./TOPS palletization software.
Strong project management and communication skills.
Ability to travel 30–40%, depending on project needs.
Must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.

Nice to Have

Experience with ingredient and concentrate packaging.
Knowledge of packaging IP, legal and procurement processes.
Exposure to both CPG and beverage manufacturing environments.
