Bank of New Zealand is looking for an Actuary, Manager - Medicare to conduct analysis, pricing, and risk assessment to estimate financial outcomes. You will provide the technical expertise needed to support financially sound operations for our Medicare businesses.
What You'll Do
- Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and principles of finance to calculate financial outcomes.
- Support Medicare medical expense forecasting through analysis of pricing models.
- Assist in the development and certification of the Medicare bid submission.
- Develop and analyze data reports to identify emerging trends and gaps.
- Communicate financial results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Take the lead in developing and pricing new and existing supplemental benefit offerings.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and share insights that shape Medicare strategy.
- Work cross-functionally with various departments.
- Support quarterly Medicare forecasting.
- Play a key role in the annual bid submission to CMS.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years of actuarial, mathematical, statistical, scientific, financial analysis, reporting, data analytics, accounting, and/or underwriting experience.
- Fellow or Associate of the Society of Actuaries (or equivalent international certification).
- Member of American Academy of Actuaries (or equivalent international membership).
- ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) designation and MAAA.
Nice to Have
- Background in Medicare pricing and bid development.
- Leadership or project management experience.
- Previous management experience.
- Skilled in managing competing deadlines.
- Skilled in translating complex data for non-technical audiences.
- Strong time management, adaptability, and analytical skills.

- Annual compensation range: $132,000.00 - $244,100.00.
