Axis Capital is seeking a North America Property Pricing Actuary to be a leading contributor to our pricing practice. You will embed with underwriting functions, providing objective insights and deep product expertise to help build robust, profitable portfolios.
What You'll Do
- Assist with the development, validation, and maintenance of technical pricing models across various Property products.
- Support individual transactions and perform case pricing in line with pricing governance.
- Lead the regular product monitoring analysis cycle and discussions with Division and Business leaders.
- Contribute to the Property Underwriting management team in developing, assessing, and implementing business strategies.
- Synthesize information across subject areas and present conclusions to divisional management.
- Coordinate the selection of expected loss ratios for financial planning, engaging with Reserving.
- Evaluate the potential profitability and assemble expected loss and combined ratio selections for new business opportunities.
- Develop, support, and maintain key risk assumptions by class, and integrate risk-based pricing metrics.
- Recommend and introduce more technical and detailed price monitoring analyses.
- Help with management and development of a team of supporting actuaries.
- Recommend and assist with the implementation of more comprehensive data capture.
What We're Looking For
- Associate or Fellow of an accredited Actuarial Society, or commensurate experience.
- 6 to 9+ years of actuarial experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Property exposures, coverages, and accumulation models.
- Direct knowledge of technical price modelling and experience-based rating concepts.
- Able to self-start own tasks and be proactive with thought leadership.
- Able to develop, recommend and implement new approaches, proactively challenging the status quo.
- Able to communicate technical concepts and establish credibility with audiences at all levels, including Executive Leadership.
- Understanding of standard reserving and pricing methods and the key issues and trends.
Nice to Have
- Intention to qualify as a fellow of a professional body, with a strong track record of progress in actuarial examinations to date.

- Compensation: Base salary in the range of $130k to $190k (NY), $120k to $160k (GA).

This is a hybrid position based in our New York (NY) or Georgia (GA) locations.
