Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring an Accounting Manager to lead our accounting function. In this leadership role, you will develop a high-performing team while overseeing core financial operations, driving accurate reporting, and optimizing processes to support organizational growth.
What You'll Do
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of accountants and an Accounts Payable Specialist.
- Oversee the full month-end close cycle, including journal entries and reconciliations across various accounts.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to explain variances and support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure timely and accurate quarterly and annual reporting, and act as the primary contact for audit processes.
- Uphold GAAP compliance and internal control standards throughout all financial activities.
- Drive process improvements and help implement automation tools to streamline operations.
- Identify opportunities to enhance accuracy, scalability, and efficiency across the accounting function.
- Support strategic growth initiatives through analytical insights and financial leadership.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- 2+ years in a leadership role.
- CPA certification required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and demonstrated ability to manage structured month-end close cycles.
- Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial variance analysis.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and AP automation platforms (e.g., Coupa).
- Skilled in internal controls and audit processes.
- Advanced Excel proficiency and strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity in SOX compliance.
- Experience in SaaS or tech industries.

- Compensation: $101,000 – $130,000
