About the Role
The Accounting Manager will lead key accounting functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvement, while ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance across systems and teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles with precision and timeliness
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements and internal reports
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and regulatory standards in all accounting practices
- Collaborate with auditors during external and internal audit processes
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-ledger systems
- Lead the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures
- Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable accounting processes
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
- Coordinate interdepartmental financial data collection and validation
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities with accurate historical data
- Manage sales tax filings and compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Track and report on fixed assets and depreciation schedules
- Ensure proper revenue recognition in line with contractual terms
- Assist in integration of accounting systems during technology upgrades
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff for professional development
- Develop internal controls to safeguard financial data and assets
- Monitor financial transactions for anomalies and potential risks
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve billing and revenue issues
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
- Streamline intercompany accounting and reconciliation processes
- Support external financial reporting requirements
- Evaluate accounting software tools for accuracy and efficiency
- Ensure timely and accurate financial disclosures
- Contribute to special projects related to financial infrastructure
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
