APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, is hiring an Accounting Manager to oversee all financial activities for our aggregate and asphalt business units. You will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements, performing month-end closing activities, managing production reporting, and ensuring strict compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and GAAP.
What You'll Do
- Oversee financial activities for the aggregate and asphalt business units.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, ensuring they are properly analyzed and correctly stated.
- Review monthly financials with business unit managers, plant managers, and senior management.
- Perform month-end closing activities, including accruals, energy entries, production entries, inventory adjustments, royalty payments, and depletion calculations.
- Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts as required.
- Assist with the DF3 monthly forecast process.
- Manage the aggregate and asphalt production reporting process.
- Manage incoming and outgoing materials processes.
- Manage periodic physical inventory measurements, reconciliation, and adjustment processes.
- Prepare for and respond to internal and external audit requests.
- Compile and analyze financial data from multiple sources.
- Ensure strict adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley and GAAP rules.
- Maintain adequate controls to safeguard financial assets, including all SOX controls and company accounting policies.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in accounting/finance functions.
- Previous supervisory experience is required.
- Proficient with Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel, work away from home, and work nights and weekends when required.
- Ability to report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Strict adherence to all safety requirements and company policies.
- Timely and regular attendance.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively to customers or employees.
- Ability to perform arithmetic operations and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions.
