In this remote role based in Guatemala, you’ll support core accounting functions by capturing and verifying financial data, ensuring timely reporting, and maintaining compliance with established procedures. You’ll collaborate with a close-knit team and interact directly with clients to resolve inquiries and keep financial operations running smoothly.
What You’ll Do
- Extract, verify, and enter financial data with precision and consistency.
- Post journal entries and assist in preparing balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
- Retrieve bank statements and perform transaction matching for reconciliation purposes.
- Flag discrepancies such as overdue checks or unmatched entries for follow-up.
- Support manual rent posting and cash application workflows as needed.
- Follow documented procedures to maintain quality and consistency across daily tasks.
- Communicate regularly with clients via email to clarify financial details and resolve issues.
- Keep databases up to date to ensure real-time access to accurate financial information.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least one year of experience in accounts payable or receivable roles.
- Solid grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Intermediate or higher English proficiency.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Exposure to Shared Service Center models or process standardization initiatives.
- Familiarity with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Yardi, or AppFolio.
- Experience with tools like Jira or HubSpot.
- Background working in fast-moving, technology-driven environments.
