Wizards of the Coast is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the Controllership team within our Skeleton Key studio. In this role, you will support the Manager of Accounting by executing daily operations with limited supervision and be a key contributor to the monthly global financial close process.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations aligned with Blackline deadlines.
- Ensure reconciliations are high-quality with sufficient supporting documentation.
- Investigate reconciling items promptly and communicate potential risks or opportunities to management.
- Participate in regular meetings with Finance and business partners to discuss operational issues, aged balances, and internal controls.
- Work proactively with team members to find opportunities for improvement and support the business with questions.
- Perform analysis and special projects as required.
- Build relationships with operational leaders to provide timely assistance on accounting matters.
- Provide vital information to facilitate internal and external audit processes.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance or a similar related accounting field.
- Minimum 4 years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, concepts, and practices.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, creatively problem-solve, and contribute efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn and adapt in a dynamic setting.
- Being organized and detail-oriented.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
- Chartered Accountant (ACA) or Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) designation.
- Public company and/or public accounting experience.
- Experience with SAP and/or Blackline.
