Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day accounting activities across European entities, including A/P, A/R, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Supporting accounting operations for the Netherlands headquarters and wider European business transactions
- Preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, VAT filings, tax reporting, and statutory requirements across multiple jurisdictions
- Supporting intercompany reconciliations and group reporting activities
- Booking accruals, payroll journals, and general accounting entries with accuracy and confidence
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and treasury activities
- Improving procurement workflows and internal approval processes
- Contributing to the implementation and optimization of MS Dynamics modules and finance operations
- Partnering with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and local stakeholders where needed
- Identifying smarter ways of working and continuously improving financial controls and operational efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5–7 years of accounting experience, ideally within a start-up, scale-up, or fast-growing international business
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance across international business structures
- Experience with month-end and year-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Someone who works independently, takes ownership, and doesn’t wait to be told where the fire is
- A strong collaborator who can work seamlessly with cross-border teams and stakeholders
- Strong communication skills in English
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting manufacturing, operations, hardware, or industrial environments
- Knowledge of IFRS and experience working with Dutch and/or broader European financial reporting structures
- Experience with MS Dynamics CRM/ERP
- Experience working in an international environment
