About the Role

Position Overview

Our healthcare client is looking for an Accounts Receivable Analyst based in Chennai or within a 40-kilometer radius. This role focuses on managing accounts receivable for hospital billing, with an emphasis on Acute Care, Rural Health, Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), and Swing Bed services. You will handle claim follow-ups, resolve denials, and ensure compliance with billing regulations while maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-call reviews to assess claim status using payer websites, IVR systems, or direct calls, and update records accordingly.
  • Document all interactions and supporting materials in client systems to support insurance submissions and ensure audit readiness.
  • Record post-call actions and analyze outcomes to improve follow-up effectiveness.
  • Verify patient eligibility, policy details, and claim status across multiple insurers.
  • Review medical records, authorizations, physician notes, and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to support accurate billing.
  • Analyze accounts receivable metrics including days in A/R, underpayment trends, and top denial reasons, using proper coding to track issues.
  • Submit claims and appeals to insurance providers and work to convert denials into payments.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, third-party payer rules, and regulatory standards in all billing activities.
  • Meet established productivity and quality benchmarks on a weekly and monthly basis.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hospital billing, specifically within Acute Care, Rural Health, SNF, or Swing Bed environments.
  • Familiarity with UB04 claim forms and healthcare billing workflows.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPC coding systems.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including MS Excel, MS Word, and Google Sheets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work night shifts on a consistent basis.
  • Graduate degree from a recognized institution.
  • Must be based in Chennai or within a 40 km radius of the city.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with practice management systems such as NextGen, eCW, Carecloud, or Docutap.
  • Familiarity with clearinghouse platforms including Waystar, Realmed Availity, Change Healthcare, or Via Track.
  • Advanced skills in spreadsheet applications for data analysis and reporting.
