This role is responsible for leading client development and sales initiatives within a designated territory across Upstate New York. The Account Manager will focus on strengthening relationships with existing clients while actively pursuing new business through targeted outreach and relationship-building.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement localized marketing and sales strategies to promote professional accounting credentials and industry knowledge
- Build tailored plans for assigned and prospective accounts to increase revenue within the region
- Establish and nurture connections with university faculty, administrators, and student leaders to support enrollment growth
- Recruit, train, and manage Campus Ambassadors, providing ongoing support and direction
- Organize and lead events that engage academic communities and drive interest in certification programs
- Identify and pursue partnership opportunities with accounting and business departments at higher education institutions
- Maintain regular communication with leadership on progress, client interactions, and market developments
- Monitor competitive activity and share relevant insights across teams
- Negotiate and support contract agreements and renewals with institutions and organizations
- Travel frequently within the territory to meet clients, conduct presentations, and support on-campus initiatives
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required, along with strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Candidates must be confident speakers, capable of addressing audiences of 200–300 people. Proficiency in Microsoft Office—especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook—is essential. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to generate leads independently, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a field-based environment.
Applicants must reside in Upstate New York, have reliable transportation, and be prepared to cover travel expenses that are reimbursed weekly. The ability to lift 30–40 pounds is necessary. Prior experience in sales, marketing, or customer service is preferred, as is adaptability to new software platforms.
Work Environment
This is a remote position with up to 60% travel required throughout the assigned region. The role demands a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently while staying aligned with broader team goals.
