As an Account Manager, you will take ownership of client engagement and revenue development across an assigned territory in Upstate New York. This role centers on strengthening relationships with universities, accounting departments, and professional organizations to expand enrollment and increase sales through strategic outreach and localized initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement targeted marketing and sales strategies to grow revenue within your region
- Engage with faculty, administrators, and student leaders to build lasting academic partnerships
- Recruit, train, and support Campus Ambassadors at assigned universities
- Organize and lead on-campus events to generate interest and drive enrollments
- Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with firms, government agencies, and corporations
- Deliver presentations to audiences of 200–300 people on professional certification pathways and industry trends
- Monitor competitor activity and share insights with regional and national teams
- Report regularly on performance metrics, sales activity, and relationship development
- Negotiate and support contract renewals with academic and corporate partners
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to lift 30–40 pounds for event setup and material transport
- Reliable vehicle and willingness to travel up to 60% within the territory
- Capacity to cover travel expenses between weekly reimbursements
- Proven self-motivation and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years in sales, marketing, or customer-facing roles
- Experience learning and adapting to new software platforms
