Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation is seeking an Access & Reimbursement Manager (ARM) for its Cardiovascular portfolio in the Indianapolis, Indiana territory. This field-based role provides critical education to defined accounts on access and reimbursement topics to support product strategy. You will serve as the key local market access expert on payer policy, coverage, billing and coding, claims processing, and manufacturer support programs.
What You'll Do
- Interact within assigned accounts to support patient access, providing proactive face-to-face education on product-specific programs to providers and staff.
- Address customer questions related to NPC policies on product ordering, payment, inventorying, and returns & replacement.
- Work with key members of therapeutic area offices to support patient access to products.
- Analyze account reimbursement issues and opportunities, identifying trends at local, regional, and national levels.
- Support pull-through on local coverage decisions and proactively communicate policy changes.
- Stand up Novartis-sponsored patient support programs to enable patients starting and staying on therapy.
- Maintain expertise in regional and local access landscape as the aligned therapeutic area product reimbursement expert.
- Interface with the Patient Support Center on matters related to patient case management and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with aligned cross-functional associates within NPC to share insights on customer needs and barriers.
- Assess the access situation within your assigned geography and develop an appropriate Plan of Action.
- Establish preferred acquisition pathways.
- Educate on and support end-to-end buy-and-bill processes, workflows, and facility pull-through in complex accounts.
- Educate relevant stakeholders on logistics related to ordering, payment, inventory, and product returns.
- Engage with non-prescribers, such as pharmacy, system leadership, financial counselors, and office administrators.
- Identify and report adverse events via established Novartis systems.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Minimum three to five years' experience in public or private third-party Reimbursement or pharmaceutical industry in managed care, clinical support, or sales.
- Experience with specialty pharmacy products acquired through Specialty Pharmacy networks or specialty distributors (buy and bill).
- Experience with coding, billing, and in-office support programs.
- Prior account management experience or experience with complex accounts (Payer landscape, high patient volume, large systems).
- Specialty pharmacy experience required, including the ability to teach an office the entire process from script to injection.
- Experience establishing relationships within a practice to help remove reimbursement barriers for patients.
- Ability to operate as a team player collaborating with multiple sales representatives, sales leadership, and internal colleagues.
- Ability to travel and cover large multistate geography territories; at least 50% travel required.
- Must live within the assigned territory.
- Driving is an essential function of this role; must have a fully valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
- Superb knowledge of the buy-and-bill reimbursement pathway.
- Experience working with established injection networks.

- Knowledge of Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) policies and processes with expertise in Medicare Parts B and D.
- Knowledge of Managed Care, Government, and Federal payer sectors, as well as Integrated Delivery Networks/Integrated Health Systems.

Team & Environment
You will partner closely with other Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation field associates, including Customer Engagement and Market Access teams. The role involves coordinating and communicating cross-functionally within NPC, including with the Patient Support Center, Marketing, Public Affairs, State & Government Affairs, Trade, Specialty Pharmacy Account Management, and applicable third-party affiliates.

- Compensation Range: $138,600 - $257,400/year.
