Cape Fear Valley Health System is hiring a Per Diem Pharmacist to provide remote clinical and operational pharmacy services. In this role, you will demonstrate expertise in patient care through comprehensive medication order review, dispensing, and team supervision.
What You'll Do
- Perform comprehensive patient medication order interpretation, checking for problems with dosages, interactions, and incompatibilities.
- Perform comprehensive patient medication order computer entry.
- Function as a supervisor of technicians, students, and co-workers.
- Prepare ordered medications and dispense ordered medications.
- Provide a safe working environment.
- Maintain effective working relationships with hospital staff.
- Participate in Organizational Improvement activities.
- Complete all required documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Licensed as a Pharmacist by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy (NCBOP) OR graduate from an accredited school of pharmacy OR eligible for graduation.
- Knowledge of Pharmacy laws (state and national).
- Knowledge of ages of patients (infant to older adult) that the pharmacist may serve.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Interpersonal skills that promote cooperative peer behavior.
- Knowledge of drugs and how they act and interact.
- Ability to work variable shifts.
- Ability to turn and lift patients.
- Comfort with much standing, walking, bending and lifting.
- Possess visual and auditory acuity for observing patients.
- Position involves exposure to blood and body secretions and may involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material.
Team & Environment
You will supervise technicians, students, and co-workers as part of your responsibilities.
Work Mode
This is a remote, per diem position requiring flexibility for variable shifts. The role is based out of the Fayetteville, North Carolina area.
