Florida Institute of Technology is seeking a part-time ABA Online Instructor to support student success in our online Applied Behavior Analysis courses, including certificate and master's degree programs. In this hourly role, you will conduct virtual meetings, facilitate student learning, answer questions, and maintain current knowledge in the field of behavior analysis.
What You'll Do
- Complete training that involves participating as a student in online courses and observing instructor-led online meetings.
- Create and prepare course materials, such as PowerPoint slides and presentations, for review prior to teaching assignments.
- Conduct all scheduled online meetings on time, presenting original materials with active student response exercises.
- Use effective teaching techniques to maintain student engagement, encourage discussion, and explain complex concepts.
- Record online meetings and adhere to all duties outlined in the instructor guide.
- Maintain above-average student satisfaction scores.
- Enter student attendance within 24 hours of each scheduled online meeting.
- Monitor student progress and initiate contact with students as needed.
- Respond to student emails within 24 hours.
- Participate in course discussion boards a minimum of once per week per course.
- Attend or review a recording of a co-instructor meeting once per term.
- Provide accurate availability for scheduling purposes up to one semester ahead.
- Prepare and update course materials as required.
What We're Looking For
- M.S. in behavior analysis or a related field with experience in behavior analysis teaching or training.
- Maintained certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing.
- 2-5 years of experience in your area of expertise.
- Demonstrated mastery of the concepts and principles of behavior analysis.
- Ability to communicate information effectively in a clear, courteous, and timely manner to students and team members.
- Proven ability to teach effectively.
- Ability to facilitate student achievement of educational outcomes and maintain high student satisfaction scores.
- Ability to take initiative and self-manage.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn new technologies and programs quickly, such as our LMS/Canvas.
- A wired, high-speed internet connection sufficient for effective online instruction.
- Flexibility of work hours, with availability on evenings and weekend days/evenings required.
