Behavioral Health Works is hiring an ABA Director of Authorizations and Client Intake to lead our intake and authorization processes. You will ensure clients receive timely access to ABA services while maintaining strict compliance with insurance requirements and company policies. This role involves direct oversight of the authorization and intake team members.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the client intake process, including gathering necessary documentation and information.
- Ensure a smooth transition for new clients from inquiry to service initiation.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to facilitate assessments and service planning.
- Manage the authorization process for insurance providers, ensuring timely report and authorization request submission and follow-up.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Track and analyze authorization statuses, addressing any issues or denials promptly.
- Supervise and train intake coordinators and administrative staff.
- Foster a collaborative team environment focused on client-centered care.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to client intake and authorizations.
- Prepare and present reports on intake and authorization metrics to management.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients and families regarding intake and authorization questions.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with insurance providers and other stakeholders.
- Advocate for clients to ensure they receive necessary services without delay.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, social work, or a related field.
- At least 1 year managing staff.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in intake and authorization processes within a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services and insurance reimbursement practices.
- Proficient with CentralReach including the authorizations module.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with all of GSuite (e.g., Google Sheets).
