Accel Schools is hiring a 9-12th EL Coordinator (0.5)/EL Teacher (0.5)

Responsibilities

  • Act as the official instructor and lead educator for all core academic subjects and grade levels
  • Consistently strive to achieve targets for student performance, school culture, and state-mandated academic standards
  • Conduct high-quality live online lessons tailored to student needs using evidence-based teaching strategies
  • Set up and organize each course within the digital learning platform
  • Supervise student progress in self-paced courses and provide daily feedback and grading
  • Maintain consistent communication and records of contact with every student
  • Work with school leadership to prepare and share student progress updates
  • Regularly analyze individual student data to guide changes in teaching methods
  • Adapt instruction to support diverse learning needs for all students
  • Apply proven teaching techniques in both live and independent learning settings
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Embed culturally responsive practices in daily teaching and interactions with students, families, and staff
  • Enforce school-wide behavioral and cultural expectations within and outside the classroom
  • Maintain regular contact with families about academic and emotional development
  • Integrate modern technology skills into classroom and team activities
  • Assist in organizing and attend in-person non-academic events such as field trips and social gatherings
  • Work collaboratively, respectfully, and professionally with fellow staff members
  • Travel annually to support state-mandated in-person testing
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as needed
