As a 3D Modeller for orthopaedic braces and splints, you will play a central role in turning patient-specific 3D scans into fully realized medical devices. Your work will span the entire design pipeline—from initial scan interpretation to final producible models—ensuring each product is both clinically effective and manufacturable.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the 3D design process for hand, wrist, and finger support devices, maintaining precision and consistency
- Convert raw 3D scan data into refined, production-ready models using advanced digital techniques
- Collaborate closely with orthopaedic technicians to align designs with patient needs and clinical requirements
- Work alongside manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and efficient to produce
- Develop expertise in a range of modelling methods, including parametric, t-spline, solid, and surface modelling
- Stay current with emerging 3D printing technologies and materials, testing and applying innovations where appropriate
- Continuously refine existing products and workflows to improve quality, speed, and functionality
- Support production during high-volume periods, meeting deadlines without compromising detail
What We Look For
- Proven experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, or Fusion360—academic projects included
- A meticulous approach to design, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to work efficiently under time constraints while maintaining high standards
- A proactive mindset focused on improvement, both in individual work and team processes
- A genuine concern for how your designs impact patients’ daily lives
- Comfort working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
- HBO-level education or equivalent
- Residency in the Netherlands and a valid Dutch work permit
Work Environment
This is an onsite role based in the Netherlands with no remote option. You’ll work within a focused, driven team that values craftsmanship, precision, and continuous growth. The atmosphere is hands-on and goal-oriented, with regular training opportunities in advanced 3D modelling techniques.
Compensation & Benefits
- Monthly salary between €2,500 and €2,900 (full-time, 40 hours)
