The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) is looking for a SATCOM Engineering Support Services professional. You will provide on-site engineering support at the SATCOM Static Ground Station in Den Haag (The Hague), Netherlands for day-to-day operations, lifecycle management, upgrades, obsolescence mitigation, and compliance of the station's complex infrastructure. The Agency is dedicated to acquiring, deploying, and defending communication systems for NATO’s political decision-makers and Commands.
What You'll Do
- Maintain antenna pointing, tracking, alignment, and calibration of mechanical and control systems.
- Oversee RF front-end/back-end maintenance including modems, up/down-converters, LNA/TWTA/SSPA, filters, waveguides, and associated hardware.
- Support link budget verification, signal quality monitoring, noise figure control, and interference mitigation.
- Inspect and maintain antenna foundations, pedestals, radome structural integrity, and anchoring systems.
- Support civil/structural works associated with the site, including radomes, support towers, site drainage, buildings, and shelters.
- Manage prime power systems such as diesel generators and fuel systems, backup power, UPS, and battery systems.
- Maintain HVAC, air handling, climate control, dehumidification, ventilation, and fire suppression systems.
- Ensure site compliance with host nation electrical codes, HSE standards, and safety policies.
- Track equipment lifecycles and obsolescence risk, assisting in preparing upgrade or replacement plans.
- Provide fault diagnosis and corrective maintenance for station infrastructure and RF/SATCOM systems.
- Maintain configuration control by keeping technical baselines, drawings, and as-built documentation up to date.
- Produce monthly engineering support reports covering activities, faults, maintenance, recommendations, and risk assessments.
