About the Role
The teacher ensures every student masters the academic and social skills necessary for college success, upholds organizational values, sets high academic goals, and uses student data to shape effective daily instruction. The role emphasizes continuous growth, feedback, and delivering challenging high school content alongside opportunities for college credit through dual-enrollment, AP, or IB programs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver state-mandated and organization-specific curricula and assessments to meet high academic benchmarks
- Master and teach grade-level content, core objectives, and assigned texts effectively
- Submit detailed weekly lesson plans two weeks ahead of time to receive feedback
- Use formal and informal assessments to monitor individual student progress, adapt instruction, and maintain an updated gradebook
- Provide weekly updates to students and families on academic performance and growth
- Leverage technology efficiently for communication, instruction, and task management to enhance learning outcomes
- Enforce a consistent classroom behavior system aligned with school-wide practices, supporting student character and community building
- Contribute to shaping a positive, productive, and engaging school-wide culture
- Build respectful, trusting relationships with students and families rooted in cultural understanding
- Conduct required tutoring sessions to support diverse student learning needs
- Attend weekly leadership check-ins, grade-level meetings, and school-wide events including before and after school duties
- Participate in summer and ongoing professional development at district, school, and individual levels
- Commit to a minimum of 40 hours per week on-site
- Fulfill additional duties such as after-school tutoring or weekend instruction as needed
Compensation
Starting salary is $63,500 for candidates with no prior experience. Eligible for stipends of $500–$4,000 based on certifications, credentials, and leadership roles. Performance-based compensation available. Additional hourly pay for assigned after-school or Saturday school responsibilities.
