Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies is hiring a Workers Compensation Defense Attorney to join our legal team as house counsel. In this role, you will defend client interests in workers' compensation matters, operating remotely from the Los Angeles, California area.
What You'll Do
- Defend client interests in all phases of workers' compensation litigation
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials
- Manage a case portfolio, ensuring compliance with all legal deadlines and procedures
- Provide legal advice and risk analysis to internal stakeholders
What We're Looking For
- Active member in good standing of the California State Bar
- Significant experience practicing in California workers' compensation defense
- Proven track record handling litigation from inception through trial
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload

This is a remote position. Candidates must be located and authorized to work in the Los Angeles, California area.
