Role Overview
This position provides on-the-ground geological expertise during wellfield drilling, completions, and operational activities in Northern Saskatchewan. Based initially in Saskatoon, the geologist will transition to a rotational schedule supporting field operations from a remote camp. The role ensures accurate geological interpretation and technical guidance to maintain alignment with project objectives, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support drilling and completions programs by verifying adherence to approved designs and geological criteria
- Monitor subsurface conditions during drilling operations, define casing depths and completion zones, and log core and sample data
- Analyze drilling results to verify target accuracy, detect geological variations, and guide operational decisions
- Assist in the design of drilling programs, wellfield expansion planning, and updates to resource models and production estimates
- Participate in well performance assessments, workovers, and stimulation efforts as needed
- Coordinate with site and technical teams to ensure consistent data reporting and operational support
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout all field activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a closely related field
- Minimum of three years of hands-on field geology experience, ideally in uranium, in-situ recovery (ISR) mining, or mineral exploration
- Direct experience with mud-rotary and diamond drilling methods
- Proven ability in geological logging, structural analysis, and interpretation of subsurface data
- Familiarity with quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) protocols and grade control procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with geological data management systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of effective collaboration across technical and operations teams
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance

This role begins in Saskatoon with a transition to a rotational schedule at a remote field location in Northern Saskatchewan. The position requires adaptability to field camp conditions and a commitment to working safely in a remote setting.
