Gwinnett Technical College invites applications for a full-time Welding and Joining Technology Instructor to join the Applied Technology and Transportation division. This role is based at the Barrow County Campus, where you will be responsible for developing curriculum, delivering instruction, and ensuring program standards are met for credited welding courses.
What You'll Do
- Develop program and course outlines, goals, and objectives.
- Prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited welding and joining technology courses.
- Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
- Request and maintain supplies and equipment and prepare required budget requests.
- Maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate.
- Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports.
- Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
- Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs.
- Assist with student recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
- Work with the Dean to coordinate hiring of adjunct instructors.
- Manage administrative responsibilities related to scheduling, developing syllabi, and teaching courses.
What We're Looking For
- Technical diploma in Welding and Joining Technology from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years work experience in a position related to welding and joining technology.
- Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evening and nights, and teach at multiple campuses as needed.
Nice to Have
- Associate’s degree in Welding and Joining Technology or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE) certifications.
- Teaching experience in a classroom and laboratory setting.
- Knowledge of robotic training cell with system 5 Fanuc robot.
- Knowledge of CNC plasma table operation.
