Plaid is hiring a Web Marketing Lead

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company website as a growth and revenue driver
  • Develop and execute the growth strategy and roadmap for the website, overseeing performance on product pages, documentation entry points, campaign landing pages, and conversion surfaces, while collaborating with Brand, Content, and Design on flagship pages like the homepage
  • Take direct responsibility for pipeline generated from the website, conversion rates, and key revenue indicators
  • Enhance performance on critical surfaces such as the homepage, product pages, documentation entry points, campaign landing pages including event registration, and the blog
  • Serve as the internal authority on web performance, user pathways, and competitive standards, defining excellence benchmarks
  • Lead and expand a high-performing team
  • Recruit, oversee, and grow a top-tier web marketing team covering strategy, operations, SEO/AEO, content management, and experimentation
  • Cultivate a team culture emphasizing ownership, speed, and ongoing learning
  • Set clear objectives, processes, and operational rhythms to maximize impact, implementing structured workflows for efficiency and quality
  • Promote experimentation and continuous optimization
  • Establish and scale a rigorous experimentation program to boost conversion, activation, and self-serve growth
  • Spearhead hypothesis development, testing strategies, and measurement frameworks, including forming hypotheses, conducting tests, and rapid iteration
  • Achieve operational excellence via scalable systems, automating page creation, testing, and optimization workflows
  • Enhance end-to-end user journeys
  • Shape the complete web experience from initial visit to signup, demo request, or sales interaction
  • Optimize for developer audiences (self-serve, documentation-driven paths) and business buyers (solution evaluation and sales handoff)
  • Utilize user research, behavioral analytics, and market insights to guide messaging, information architecture, and site-wide UX
  • Identify and eliminate friction in acquisition, education, and conversion processes
  • Own and evolve the central web narrative strategy
  • Create a unified storytelling approach on the website, including homepage experience and refining the company story through a web perspective
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to convert product strategy and positioning into clear, impactful web experiences, integrating various product areas into cohesive plans
  • Work with Product, Engineering, and Design to prioritize and implement site experience and infrastructure enhancements
  • Partner with Growth Marketing and Sales to enhance campaign performance and pipeline conversion
  • Coordinate with the Brand team to ensure visual and narrative consistency across the website
  • Drive technical excellence

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years in growth marketing, web marketing, or product-led growth roles with progressive leadership duties
  • Demonstrated history of managing and scaling a website as a measurable growth and revenue channel, with specific examples of CRO successes, organic traffic growth, or conversion rate improvements managed end-to-end
  • Experience in driving pipeline, conversion, and product adoption through web optimization and experimentation
  • Substantial leadership background, including building and managing high-performing teams
  • Advanced proficiency in web analytics tools like GA4 or Mixpanel, A/B testing platforms such as Optimizely or VWO, and experimentation frameworks
  • Experience collaborating across functions with Product, Engineering, Design, and Sales teams
  • Exceptional cross-functional communication skills, able to articulate web strategy effectively to engineers, product marketing managers, and executives
  • Strong inclination toward experimentation: formulating hypotheses, testing them, and iterating rapidly without requiring initial perfection

  • Experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, or developer-focused products
  • Familiarity with product-led growth and sales-assisted growth models
  • Background in optimizing technical or API-driven websites with complex user pathways
  • Expertise in SEO/AEO, lifecycle marketing, or large-scale growth experimentation
  • Experience with modern CMS and experimentation tools like Contentful, Optimizely, or Webflow
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for issue diagnosis and faster collaboration with engineering
  • Background in international or multi-market web strategy
  • Experience with customer data platforms such as Segment or marketing automation platforms like HubSpot or Marketo
