Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a VP, Origination & Borrower Sourcing based in India. This is a strategic senior role focused on expanding a global portfolio of high-impact borrowers to enable financial inclusion across emerging markets. You will lead the sourcing, screening, and structuring of debt opportunities with financial institutions, microfinance entities, SMEs, and mission-aligned organizations.
What You'll Do
- Drive end-to-end origination by identifying, sourcing, and evaluating high-potential borrowers aligned with key impact themes such as gender-lens investing, financial inclusion, and climate resilience.
- Build and manage a diversified pipeline of investment-ready borrowers, including financial institutions, MFIs, SMEs, and other impact enterprises.
- Lead structuring and negotiation of debt transactions, conducting credit analysis and due diligence to ensure investment quality and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with the Credit and Impact teams to conduct on-site due diligence across multiple regions.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships to unlock syndication and co-lending opportunities.
- Represent the organization at industry events to enhance visibility and sourcing capabilities.
- Maintain long-term relationships with borrowers, identify future capital needs, and support follow-on transactions.
- Contribute to strategic planning, pipeline forecasting, and reporting for internal stakeholders and investors.
What We're Looking For
- 8–12 years of proven experience in loan origination, credit structuring, or investment management, particularly in South and Southeast Asian markets.
- Strong track record working with financial institutions, SMEs, MFIs, and impact-oriented borrowers.
- Expertise in credit risk assessment, transaction structuring, and financial due diligence.
- Deep understanding of inclusive finance and impact investing frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new partnerships and expand borrower networks in emerging markets.
- Master’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently to target markets.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and results-driven, with strong strategic thinking.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in additional regional languages is a plus.
- Experience with ESG and impact measurement frameworks is highly desirable.
