At Carbon Health Technologies Inc, we are looking for a VP Controller to provide accurate and timely financial management for the organization. You will lead in building a world-class finance team to support rapid scaling, managing all accounting, reporting, and internal controls to facilitate executive and board-level decisions.
What You'll Do
- Manage the accounting function to ensure accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and analysis for stakeholders
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple entities, including international subsidiaries and JV models
- Develop internal control guidelines, policies, and processes for budget accounting, cash management, administration, and related activities
- Support key initiatives around budgeting, corporate finance, capital raising, procurement, and financial planning
- Own and manage the 13-week cash forecast process, integrating operational drivers and debt compliance obligations
- Analyze and recommend improvements to financial performance, accounting policies, and management reporting
- Partner with business leaders to align reporting with their needs and goals
- Drive automation and system integration across financial systems like ERP, EMR, RCM, and payroll
- Oversee internal and external audit and tax functions, coordinating with outside firms
- Lead audit readiness for potential M&A and ensure investor-grade reporting processes
- Lead and manage staff, including recruitment, onboarding, development, performance management, and retention
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5–7 years in a senior accounting or controllership role in operationally complex organizations
- Strong fundamental grounding in accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting
- Experience in financial management of multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
- Proven experience managing consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and legal-entity-level close
- Experience with implementation or deep operating understanding of ERP / financial planning systems
Nice to Have
- CPA designation
- Healthcare industry experience
- Familiarity with clinic-based revenue recognition, cash-based service businesses, or RCM processes
- Early-stage, venture-backed company experience
- Experience in high-growth, venture-backed or PE-backed companies with complex operating models (e.g., multi-site, healthcare, franchising)
- Experience with NetSuite or comparable mid-market systems
