HireHawk is hiring a Video Editor to create compelling short-form video content optimized for major social media platforms. In this remote role based in South Africa, you will transform raw footage and educational wellness material into engaging stories that drive reach and conversions.
What You'll Do
- Edit engaging short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Meta Ads, and YouTube Shorts.
- Optimize videos with strong hooks in the first 1–3 seconds and use retention techniques like jump cuts and silence removal.
- Implement mobile-first editing with captions, visual cues, kinetic text, and animated subtitles.
- Add light motion graphics, subtle transitions, and visual enhancements.
- Identify and analyze trending content formats, adapting viral formats to brand messaging.
- Propose new content ideas based on emerging trends and patterns that drive engagement.
- Edit smartphone-shot videos, founder talking-head content, customer testimonials, lifestyle content, and creator-style UGC.
- Structure educational wellness videos using specific narrative formats (hook, problem, explanation, solution, call to action).
- Maintain a consistent wellness brand look with clean design, calm pacing, and soft transitions.
- Use AI tools to improve production efficiency in caption generation, editing, clip selection, and workflow automation.
