Victaulic is hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer to be responsible for all supplier quality activities, including Supplier Quality Management and Product Quality Support. You will drive supplier qualification, development, and management, working with both new and existing suppliers.
What You'll Do
- Drive the Supplier Qualification Process for all existing and prospective suppliers in-country, in accordance with corporate procedures.
- Support all elements of the supplier quality management system, including first piece approvals, periodic inspections, process validations, control plan development, non-conforming material containment, root cause analysis, and CAPA.
- Assist suppliers in understanding and implementing Victaulic product specifications.
- Assist in supplier corrective actions pertaining to internal or external failures as reported through SCAR and PCAR systems.
- Lead team meetings for issues affecting product availability to ensure actions and status are communicated effectively.
- Identify opportunities for supplier development based on risk and benefit, including improved inspection, technology leverage, mistake proofing, capacity improvement, or quality management.
- Perform special projects as assigned by the Supplier Quality Supervisor.
- Perform trend analysis and establish ongoing supplier quality metrics.
- Initiate periodic communication with internal customers to ensure quality objectives are clearly identified and acted upon.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role with demonstrated success in supplier qualification, management, correction, and development.
- Experience with managing supplier quality in the production of cast and machined components.
- Strong knowledge of facility audits in accordance with standard QMS guidelines.
- Strong knowledge of fundamental Quality Engineering principles and techniques, including statistical analysis and related software.
- Proficient in problem solving.
- Proficient in the use of electronic systems and software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to travel 50% of the time.
- Working knowledge of measuring equipment.
- Able to make independent decisions without supervisory assistance.
Nice to Have
- ASQ Certified Quality Auditor or Certified Quality Engineer certification.
